Well Dec28 thru Jan 5th we had 78 folks from New Jersey. This was a rather unusual group they are highly focused on construction and very well organized! It was exciting to see them grow and develop relationships with different people. They had a small group that did VBS everyday and worked in the homeless kitchen, and as usual those that were more involved in people were more impacted.
One quick story I love it because it happened at a pharmacy and was once again unplanned by us and could have happened back in New Jersey. Yet it was God using an AIM trip to teaching "Listening Prayer".
This guy went across the street to the Rite Aid to get some shower shoes, and when got to the cashier to check out he could tell she was trying her best to be professional. Yet he could tell that she had been crying. He checked out and was headed for the door when he heard the Lord telling him to reach out to her. He stepped back up an isle and pretended to shop some more while he was arguing with the Lord. What would he say and of course it would look like he was flirting with her. Finally in frustration he said I will go and trust you to give me the words when I get there.
So the dude walks over and says "could I get your name because I would like to go back across the street and get some people together and pray for you". He said the look on her face was worth the whole trip. He listened, had the courage to obey, and tasted the fruit. It seems so simple, but a beautiful first step to becoming a Moses. Should he continue to remain courageous enough to keep trying in spite of failures and "chicken" Christians that discourage him from obeying.
